How to Use This Paper Effectively

Get the most out of your practice session with these tips from experienced teachers

1

Know your calculator inside out — practise using the fraction, power, and trigonometric buttons.

2

Don't rely on the calculator for simple sums — it's faster to do easy arithmetic mentally.

3

Always check calculator answers make sense in context (e.g. a negative length is impossible).

4

Work through the paper under timed conditions (90 minutes) without peeking at the mark scheme — this builds real exam stamina.

5

After marking, go back to every wrong answer and work through the solution step by step. Write out the correct method in full.
