How to Use This Paper Effectively

Get the most out of your practice session with these tips from experienced teachers

1

For language analysis, always use the PEE structure: Point, Evidence (quote), Explain the effect.

2

In creative writing, aim for varied sentence lengths and ambitious vocabulary — but keep it natural.

3

Spend 5 minutes planning your creative writing piece — a brief plan prevents rambling.

4

Time yourself strictly — many students run out of time on the writing section. Allocate time per question and stick to it.

5

Read the source texts carefully before attempting any questions. Underline key phrases as you read.
